Palm Sunday Discussion Questions
Read Matthew 21:1-11
Some Questions to Discuss with Parents:
1. Why does Jesus enter Jerusalem on a donkey? Why not on a beautiful horse and chariot like a “king” would? What was Jesus showing us?
2. In Mark 11:8, it says many people laid their cloaks down before Jesus and waved palm leaves. What did that mean?
3. What does ‘Hosanna’ mean? (Parents, please explain this to your kids.) Perhaps play a few seconds of the song, “Hosanna” by Hillsong. Take a guess. I feel like some already know.
4. What do you think it would have been like to see Jesus riding into the city on Palm Sunday? Imagine that. Write about it or draw it. What would you be feeling?
5. The people treated Jesus like a King when He entered Jerusalem. In what ways can you treat Jesus like a King this next week?

It has some great activities for the family! Your task or challenge this week is to do something super fun as a family and SEND me pictures or videos of the fun activities you do as a family. Some of the ideas on this list are really silly or maybe impossible, but there are a lot of ideas. You could have a Worship Dance Party to your favorite VBS songs, create a house of cards, reenact what you think it looked like for Jesus on Palm Sunday, bake cookies or brownies together, have a family PJ party with popcorn, or have a family talent show! It could be kids vs. adults or boys vs. girls. Have an indoor picnic. Whatever you do, please share them with me. J You can email them to me at jena@faithe.org.
