“Take Heart”
· Pray together!
· Worship Time (The kids should know these songs and the motions to least a couple of them.) Have a worship dance party!!
· Memory Verse this week:
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” ~John 16:33
Hand motions are great with this verse! :)
PreK & Kindergarten:
Materials: Bible, blank pieces of paper, crayons/colored pencils/markers
Try memorizing “…But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
1. Read the verse together.
2. Color a picture of what you think this verse means. Parents, please make sure to talk through the whole verse with your kids so that they understand what it’s saying.
3. Try memorizing the second part of it (see above).
4. Tape your picture on your wall by your bed so that when you go to bed every night, you remember that Jesus is always in control and that He loves you very much.
Let me know how you’re doing with this.

1st-3rd Grade:
Materials: Bible, notecards or a piece of paper, writing utensils.
1. Read the verse aloud.
2. Rewrite this verse in your own words. Parents may need to help with this.
3. Then, hang it in your room, or on the bathroom mirror, or on the refrigerator. Some place you know you will see it. Make it colorful.
Discussion Questions:
a) What is this verse telling us?
b) Even when things are uneasy, or changing, or uncertain, how can this verse bring you peace.
c) Can you think of any other verses that could help you during challenging or hard time? Verses about God helping you, not worrying, verses about thankfulness even when life gets crazy, etc.
- Parents, please guide your kids with this question. As a family, can you find at least 5 verses that you can write on notecards and hang around the house to remind you that Jesus is and will always be in control?
